Course Summary
Kick start your studies in childhood education!
Are you interested in pursuing a course to assist you to work with children? This program will introduce you to the growing sector of both early childhood (0–6 years) and education support (6 years+) roles, and will provide you with a smooth and confident transition to either the Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care (CHC30121) or Certificate III in School Based Education Support (CHC30221) course and its requirements. The program also focuses on literacy and numeracy skills to increase chances of successfully participating in your course.
Topics covered within the program include:
- Introduction to an Early Childhood Education Centre
- Understanding children 0-12 years
- Understanding children’s developmental needs and interests
- Ensuring safety & wellbeing
- Diversity & inclusion
- Responding to accidents
- Writing incident reports
The program will be delivered by an experienced early childhood educator with the focus on “hands on” learning.
Runs: Regularly throughout the year, 10 x 4 hour sessions
