Heidi received her Master's Degree from RMIT and a Bachelor of Fine Art from Monash University where she studied sculpture, drawing and printmaking. In addition, she holds a Diploma of Education from Melbourne University. Heidi's artworks have featured in many galleries. Her unique installations have been exhibited at the National Gallery of Victoria, International Sculpture Event at Tollangi, South Melbourne Town Hall Treasury Garden Melbourne and at the Botanical Garden in St Kilda. Heidi has won numerous art prizes and studio residencies: the highlights are a residency at Art Space in Sydney and Gasworks in Melbourne. Heidi was a Linden Postcard Show winner and recently won a Studio Exhibition Prize at the Brunswick Street Gallery’s 10th Anniversary Exhibition. Lately Heidi developed a renewed interest in painting and drawing and is devoting her time to this end. She is working mostly within the realm of abstraction. In addition to her art practice, Heidi teaches Painting and Drawings at the CAE in Melbourne.
In this course students will be introduced to painting and drawing. The course will cover the following areas:
Introduction to drawing still life with charcoal, ink and pastels
Exploring space, form and tone
Introduction to painting still life using acrylic paints
Using colour temperature mixing methods
Exploring painting and drawing issues
