Course Summary

Leading Forensic Egyptologist, Dr Janet Davey of Monash University, explores a subject that continues to fascinate people into the 21st Century. Apart from the Pyramids, mummies are “The” iconic image of Ancient Egypt. Where would Hollywood be without Egyptian mummies to scare the viewing public?

Janet ponders and discusses these themes: Is it true that mummies can rise up from tombs and haunt the living? What did the ancient Egyptians do to protect themselves from the spirits of the dead?

Challenge yourself to come along and discover the truth about mummies, curses and what the ancient Egyptians believed would happen in the afterlife.

With this forthcoming Egyptology exhitbition coming to the National Gallery of Victoria in June, what better time than to learn about the mysteries of Ancient Egypt?
