Course Summary

This workshop is ideal for anyone interested in capturing dynamic landscape photos. Take your images to the next level by developing a visual language that will allow you to get the most out of the landscape. This balance of theory and practical exercises is perfect for the landscape photography enthusiast.

During the course you will learn about the following topics, and more:

  • What makes a good landscape photo?
  • Working with natural light
  • Neutral density and polarising filters
  • Image design principles
  • Lens choice
  • Capturing the essence of a place

Students will gain a strong understanding of the following topics:

  • Composition and image design
  • Focal length and characteristics
  • Conventions of landscape photography
  • Light quality, quantity and direction

What cameras are suited to this course?

This class is suitable for digital SLR or mirrorless cameras. You will need a basic understanding of your camera and its features.

About Photographer George Poulakis

Georege Poulakis is a multi-award-winning visual artist whose photographs and short films have been exhibited nationally. His extensive commercial photography experience complements his art practice, allowing him to approach his work with technique and creativity.

All you need is a digital camera, and any additional lenses you may have. Please ensure that your batteries are fully charged and there’s plenty of room on your memory card.

A tripod is ideal, but not essential. If you have any lens filters, please bring these along as well.
