This course, with Body Language expert, Julie-Anne Black, combines both theory and a practical approach to provide students with a better understanding of key Body Language issues

Did you know the way you use particular hand gestures, facial expressions and body movements affect your ability to influence others? In this class you will get an appraisal of your own body language as well as learning exactly what to do to be more open, engaging and influential.

Overview:

You’ll learn how to recognize signs of awkwardness, authority, shyness, confidence and genuine happiness.

You’ll become aware of the subtle micro-movements and gestures the body naturally makes when put in situations that are both comfortable and uncomfortable and what you can do to promote certain reactions.

In some workplaces, as at home, buttons can be pushed and tempers can flare but in others it is harmonious, happy and even fun, what makes the difference?

Communication is a system. It’s not accidental, therefore it’s a skill that needs to be mastered.

Imagine how you might interpret the following scene:

A supervisor approaches you in the hallway to ask your opinion on the recent KPIs. During the conversation you noticed they were:

  • Looking away from you not making eye contact
  • Fiddling with their hands
  • Constantly looking at their watch
  • Tilted their head at a slight angle
  • Kept fidgeting, rubbing their chin, shifting their glasses
  • Talked over or interrupted you
  • Nodded occasionally
  • Looked flushed and bothered
  • Kept checking for messages on their phone

How would you react in these different scenarios, do you know how to bring change to your own body language in order to generate a sense of calm in others?

You cannot fake body language and your body language will always reveal your true intent. This programme will help you become aware of your own body language and in turn help you read the body language of your customers and colleagues. You’ll know how the conversation is progressing by keenly observing customer gestures, posture, proximity and actions. This programme goes a lot deeper than traditional superficial issues such as crossed arms.

Leaders who don’t learn to become masterful communicators by interacting in a purposeful and meaningful way can waste thousands of dollars, lose great staff and miss out on cool opportunities.

Key Requirements:

This is an active participation class with interactive exercises and role-playing. You will receive the most value from this course if you are willing to participate in a dynamic, fresh and fun approach to communicating with superstar appeal. If this speaks to you, I’m calling you by name.
