- How to develop and refine a design
- The techniques for using Japanese tissue transfers
Course Summary
Bring your ideas and be inspired by the possibilities available with the inherent beauty and quality of porcelain in making jewellery. The natural translucence of this ancient material is complimented by the delicate beauty of Japanese Tissue Transfer decoration, giving your creations their own unique expression.
We will use a porcelain recipe developed in Australia combined with decoration techniques to create pieces for use as brooches, earrings, beads or necklaces.

Multi-talented ceramicist tutor, Steven McClure, bring a lifetime of creative work and passion for his craft to his classes. Steven, whose work ranges from brilliant Japanese- inspired lighting to sculpture and ceramic work. Steven holds formal qualifications including Bachelor Science and Bachelor Fine Arts and is the worthy recipient of awards for his fine work.

Please bring to first class: apron or old clothes you don’t mind getting a little dirty.
Please note – the pieces you create in this class need to be fired, therefore your work will be ready for collection one week after your course date, your tutor will give you more information about collection during the class. Pieces of work will be kept for 2 months after the course date, thereafter they will be disposed of if not collected.
