Art celebrated religion by representing Gods and Goddesses as perfect beings who were worshipped for their powers to influence the lives of the rules and their subjects. Artisans produced magnificent images that have survived to show a rich and diverse belief system which underpinned an ancient society that was ruled by the concept of Maat which equalled truth, justice and order.
