Course Summary
NEW PATHWAYS
New Pathways is designed for people with disability to support them participate in adult learning. This includes developing literacy, numeracy, digital and social skills with the goal of preparing them to move into other vocational environments, including employment, further study, training or volunteering.
Term 3 focuses on but is not limited to:
- Strength-based skills assessment
- Identification of short, mid and long-term goals
- Action plan for achieving goals
- Communication skills
- Identifying personal and community resources for support and assistance
Term 4 focuses on but is not limited to:
- Participation in planning and organising a community event
- Identifying barriers to achievement and developing effective responses
- Employability skills – context and transferability
- Transition planning
Runs: Thursdays 10 – 2.30
Term 3: 13 July to 14 September
Term 4: 5 October to 30 November
Cost: Concession: $37 or Full Fee: $123
