Course Summary

Description: More than one fifth of the Australian population speaks a language other than English at home, according to the 2016 Census. Children growing up in families like these will likely become bilingual as a result. While raising bilingual children represents a substantial challenge for parents, it should be taken as an opportunity rather than as a burden. It can ultimately be rewarding for both the child and for the entire family.

Parents and families who wish to support their children’s bilingual development are offered practical advice in this course that addresses both the benefits of bilingualism as well as the myths associated with it.

Suited to: Current and former language students (any language)
