Course Summary

This course expands on the repertoire of everyday situations. The focus is on short interactive dialogues with some supporting explanation of grammar. It provides an opportunity to extend vocabulary and use language with greater flexibility and spontaneity.

The following topics are covered in this course:

  • Animals and family pets, colours, physical features
  • Sporting activities
  • Parts of the body
  • Self introduction, introduction of family members and friends
  • Conversations based on common words and phrases

By the end of the course students should be able to:

  • name some animals;
  • talk about family pets;
  • talk about games and sporting activities;
  • be familiar with names of body parts;
  • talk about themselves, family members and friends;
  • conduct basic conversations with Mandarin-speaking people in the community.

Suited for students who have completed MANDARIN: ELEMENTARY 2.

IF YOU HAVE NOT COMPLETED THE PREVIOUS LEVEL AT CAE, YOU NEED TO CONTACT CAE FOR A SKILL ASSESSMENT PRIOR TO ENROLLING.
