By the end of this course students should be able to:
- introduce themselves and others;
- spell their names;
- engage in simple conversations and exchange personal information about nationality and profession;
- count up to 1,000 and add up sums of money;
- use simple German to talk about interests and hobbies;
- order drinks and foods in a cafe or restaurant;
- shop for furniture and appliances; indicate faults;
- have an understanding and appreciation of the values and customs of German-speaking communities;
- read and write a short simple dialogue.
