Research Officer - Educational Research Unit

The Centre for Adult Education (CAE), based in Melbourne's vibrant CBD, is known for the provision of an extensive and exciting range of short courses and high quality accredited learning options. These courses assist learners to gain skills and qualifications for work or further education. CAE also administers the world class Occupational English Test.

The work of the Educational Research Unit serves to build and continually enhance CAE's reputation as a national leader in adult learning. Through the acquisition of research funding; the conduct of research activities; and the furthering of relationships with other research communities the Unit aims to provide and disseminate knowledge and understandings. The intention is to contribute to the continuous improvement of CAE's educational practice; provide CAE staff with the opportunity to engage in specialist research; and raise CAE's profile as an adult learning provider of choice.

Educational Research Unit team members work individually or collaboratively on research projects assigned by the Unit Team Leader, forming a cohesive team that works effectively with all staff of the organisation. The work completed by this position underpins the successful operation of the Educational Research Unit by contributing to the timely completion of projects as assigned.

Permission to conduct a Police Check and Working with Children check is required.

EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT to the GENERAL MANAGERS

The Centre for Adult Education (CAE), based in Melbourne's vibrant CBD, is known for the provision of an extensive and exciting range of short courses and high quality accredited learning options. These courses assist learners to gain skills and qualifications for work or further education. CAE also administers the world class Occupational English Test.

This crucial position directly provides an executive support service to the General Managers, also providing back-up to the Executive Assistant to the CEO and Board. The position requires high level judgement, high level interpersonal skills and the ability to manage conflicting priorities, and underpins the successful functioning of the Executive Team, by ensuring that the range of administrative processes required to support this team are completed on time at a high standard.

You will demonstrate a professional, customer focussed approach in proactively providing full administrative support and services in a confidential and timely manner. You will provide efficient secretarial services including;

FACILITIES OFFICER

The Centre for Adult Education (CAE), based in Melbourne's vibrant CBD, is known for the provision of an extensive and exciting range of short courses and high quality accredited learning options. These courses assist learners to gain skills and qualifications for work or further education. CAE also administers the world class Occupational English Test.

The Facilities Team provides a range of services to support the CAE learning environment, such as class room set up, catering set ups, equipment management and set up and the coordination of building maintenance. In this role, you will demonstrate a problem solving approach, with basic troubleshooting and maintenance skills along with a strong focus on excellent customer service.

This is an ongoing part time position of 0.8. This role consists of evening and weekend work. This is a part time position of 30.40 hours per week consisting of evenings Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, and daytime Saturday and Sundays.

This role requires:

You will be required to organise class rooms with catering and appropriate equipment in preparation for classes and may be required to change set ups at short notice.You will also implement a range of protocols such as teacher no shows, building maintenance issues, OH&S hazards and first aid and evacuation procedures.

Maternity and Parental Leave

13 weeks paid Maternity Leave and up to two years unpaid leave with supportive return to work plans. If your partner has had a child you can take up to one week leave with pay and up to 52 weeks without pay.
