This is a working class where student’s will be able to draw on Eleni’s technical expertise and passion for the subject and further develop their watercolour painting skills.
Spend a relaxing and informative day exploring expressive watercolour techniques with artist, Eleni Rivers. Through close observation of nature, learn the principles of perspective, colour and composition to create dynamic watercolour paintings full of life and energy. Class includes numerous demonstrations on how to paint skies, trees, water. Good music and supportive feedback provided throughout the day.
The course will provide students with the technical skills, observational techniques and, importantly, the confidence to continue with their painting activities, post-course.
Eleni Rivers is a professional artist who has been teaching painting and drawing for over 25 years. In addition to holding several art degrees from colleges in Australia, she completed her MFA at JFK University in Berkeley, California. Now based in the Southern Grampians, Eleni is a landscape painter committed to exploring nature and environmental issue through the medium of watercolours and water-based media.

Please bring materials you may already have. Aside from paper (required), the following are suggestions only:
Two individual sheets of watercolour paper with a weight of 300gsm. The heavier the paper, the less likely you will have to deal with the warpage of the damp paper while painting. Suggest Arches watercolour, medium surface.
OR use any watercolour pad e.g. Arches watercolour, A3 size, medium surface, 300gsm
Do NOT buy cheap watercolour sets – the results will be disappointing! Artist quality are always the best however, if concerned about cost, I suggest the following:
