Our tutor is passionate about sharing the healthy, environmentally friendly and low-budget advantages of his Mediterranean heritage through a healthy and delicious diet. He discusses traditional foods, including: legumes, olives, olive oil, bread, salads, as well as suggestions for daily meals.

Our tutor will explore practical aspects of this healthy, environmentally friendly and low budget diet, with an emphasis on traditional Greek foods, regarded as the prototype for the Mediterranean diet. Foods of special importance include: legumes, bread, salads, olives and olive oil, as well as how to achieve maximum flavour by using local ingredients and fresh (home-grown) produce in season. Daily meals and related practices throughout the year will be also covered.



Mark Dymiotis is a passionate gardener who continues the tradition of his Cypriot parents and ancestors. Mark's expertise on all the Mediterranean diet has been featured in many media articles and popular TV shows.

Growing up in rural Cyprus, he has interviewed local, Greek and Italian people with a history of practising this traditional diet. His garden in Melbourne has often been featured in the popular Australian Home Garden Scheme.
