Course Summary

Swedish Elementary 4 is a continuation course focusing on the deepening of all the basic conversation and grammatical skills students have gained thus far. It provides the next level of understanding of daily life and is ideal for people who have studied Swedish previously and who are keen on taking the next step in understanding and learning more about the Swedish language as well as culture and customs.

This 18-hour course focuses on speaking and listening so that students will be able to communicate effectively on everyday topics, such as

  • Buying tickets and discussing my options regarding travel;
  • Basic geographical facts about Sweden;
  • Using a computer and filling in forms in Swedish;
  • Swedish food and drinks, and ordering meals in a restaurant;
  • Understanding advertisements and signage;
  • Talking about experiences I’ve had.

Students will continue to learn the about Swedish grammar structures, such as prepositions and the differences in past tense structures. The course aims at getting students speaking more, as well as improving their listening and reading skills.

Swedish: Elementary 3, or equivalent (approx. 36 hours of study).

IF YOU HAVE NOT COMPLETED THE PREVIOUS LEVEL AT CAE, YOU NEED TO CONTACT CAE FOR A SKILL ASSESSMENT PRIOR TO ENROLLING.

N.B. CAE withdrawal policy does not allow for refund or transfer once the course has started in the event that the level of the class is not suitable.
