Does the thought of having to present to your management, clients, or speak at a wedding, or Big Birthday absolutely terrify you?  Or perhaps you’re just shy, and you freeze in a group. Learn techniques with Jacquie Wise to overcome the fear of public speaking and to get your point across with confidence and power.


Jacquie Wise was not always a confident presenter. She had to overcome debilitating nervousness. The techniques that she teaches are those she developed to help herself.


The course is highly interactive, with individual attention guaranteed. You will have opportunities to practise in a safe and supportive environment. The exercises are gradual, to allow you to gain confidence as you go. Jacquie’s broad experience enables her to answer your questions for any type of situation.

Captivate Your Audience

  • Introduce yourself, or introduce another speaker
  • Pitch at the right level for your audience
  • Be well prepared to answer questions and anticipate objections
  • Persuade and convince following proven formats and techniques
  • Use ways of following up to gain commitment
  • Speak up at meetings to give a good impression
  • Present a powerful summary of yourself for job interviews

Learn Tips and Techniques for Impact

  • Use your voice to sound more confident than you really are
  • Strong openings and closes
  • Choose appropriate stories, analogies, metaphors to captivate your audience
  • Think on your feet
  • Checklists and outlines for:
    • problem-solving
    • decision-making
    • meeting discussion
  • Plan and structure your presentations; manage time, know how to speed up slow down
  • Learn how to facilitate workshops and train groups (if required)

Create Impactful Visual Aids

  • What is a good visual aid? (Examples and models shown)
  • DOs and DON’T’s: 
    • Avoid typical powerpoint mistakes
    • Design clear, effective powerpoint slides
  • Visual aids other than power points
  • How to use visual aids effectively—when to use them and when not to
  • When to use handouts and written back-up material

Practise in the Course

You will have at least three opportunities during the course to present a topic of your choice to the group, with support and guidance. Gain instant feedback for self-improvement.

Obtain a personal action plan for what to do next to develop your confidence and style.

  • You will be better able to impress and entertain in both business and social presentations.
  • You will be more confident and will have the strategies in place to plan and deliver powerul and convincing presentations.
  • You will have structured a speech or presentation of your choice.
  • You will have practised in a safe and supportive environment.

Jacquie Wise was not always a confident presenter. She had to overcome debilitating nervousness. The techniques that she teaches are those she developed to help herself.

Jacquie is now a Master Coach and counsellor, specialising in confidence-building. In addition to facilitating short courses at adult education centres, Jacquie has designed and delivered training programs for corporations in the public and private sectors.

She has also coached many individuals to deliver impactful presentations, and on some occassions ghost-written presentations and designed visual aids for clients.

Jacquie has been a key-note speaker at conferences over many years. She is former member of the Executive Committee of the National Speakers Association.

As an author, she has been a frequent guest on national radio and television. Jacquie also produced and presented her own radio show for 20 years.

Jacquie creates a warm and supportive environment where you will be encouraged to step outside of your comfort zone. Sessions will be a blend of demonstration, discussion and practise.

Think of a couple of ideas for a presentation you might like to try in the group. If you need to deliver a presentation for your work, bring the visual aids you would use or ideas you need help with.

Please bring a large A4 notebook and coloured pens: black, red, green, blue.
