NEW PATHWAYS – Skills for Life & Work
New Pathways is a course for people with a cognitive or intellectual disability to support them to participate in adult learning developing literacy, numeracy, digital, social and community skills. These will be built into the planning, preparation and promotion of a community event held at the end of term.
- Interview techniques
- Identifying barriers to achievement
- Identification of short, mid and long term goals
- formal and informal communication techniques
- participation in planning and organising a community event
Runs:
Term 3 Thursdays, 10.00am – 2.30pm, 14th July to 15th September
Term 4 Thursdays, 10.00am – 2.30pm, 6th October to 1st December

JOBS CLUB – Skills for Life and Work
This course is designed to provide students with a cognitive or intellectual disability the skills to prepare to enter the workforce, volunteer or return to work. The areas covered include:
- Australian workplace culture and values
- Time management
- Understanding workplace safety
- Communication skills
- Appropriate workplace attire.
Runs: Term 4 Wednesdays, 10.00am – 2.30pm, 5th October – 30th November
