Diane Hamilton has been teaching art, drawing, visual communication and design for VCE for 25 years, and has been teaching various art and drawing courses at the CAE for 20 years. Diane’s educational background includes a BA in Visual Communication and Design, Industrial Design, a Diploma of Education from Melbourne University and she is a member of the Australian Guild of Realist Artists.
When Diane is not practicing her art in her home studio or teaching classes at the CAE, she manages an art gallery in Camberwell and once a year meets up with various groups of artists to paint in various locations around Europe such as Tuscany, French Rivera, Turkey, Portugal, Cinque Terre, St Paul de Vence, Rocamadour and many other regions. Diane’s broad knowledge and experience in various styles of art come through in her ability to guide her students’ to develop their own artwork in the manner they choose – whether it’s realistic, stylised or abstract.
MATERIALS REQUIREMENTS – PLEASE BRING TO CLASS:
Brushes: Bristle flat #10 $ #4, 1 sable or squirrel hair brush
Glass jar with lid
Palette knife (medium)
Palette ($2 shop, white ceramic)
1 Stretched Canvas or Canvas board approx. 40cm X 50 cm or bigger.
Your choice of acrylic or oil paint 40 ml tubes in the following colours:
Cadmium Red medium, Cadmium Blue medium, Cadmium Yellow medium, Black, White,
2 or 3 visual references of what you want to paint a picture of; one will be chosen to start painting from.
Notification of a class cancellation will be advised 48 hours prior to the course commencement date. We advise to purchase your materials once you have received email confirmation that your class is proceeding as scheduled.
