Course Summary

Excel Intermediate allows people with basic skills and understanding of Excel to build upon their skills to be more productive and knowledgeable. We consolidate confidence in understanding and creation of formulas and introduce more sophisticated functions. We cover Excel Tables. Modern versions of Excel now rely heavily on Tables for managing many rows of data (sorting, filtering, charting, conditionally highlighting, naming columns to ease formula expressions)

At the completion of this course you should be able to:

  • use a range of techniques to work cells, ranges, tables, worksheets.
  • understand Page Layout formatting to better control printouts to paper or pdf.
  • use a range of popular worksheet functions (VLOOKUP etc…) and understand how to teach yourself functions that you have not used before.
  • create and range names.
  • create and work with tables.
  • understand apply more sophisticated number formatting and conditional formatting techniques to worksheet cells.
  • use goal seeking to determine the values required to reach a desired result.
  • use a range of elements and features to enhance charts.

Microsoft Excel 2016 - Level 2 assumes the learner has the knowledge required to create, edit, print and chart simple worksheets. Understanding ranges and copying is also important.
