Course Summary

Refine your study of Latin in the company of the poet Horace and read some of his most enduring works. Read about the difficult transition from republic to empire at Rome.

When students reach the end of Oxford Latin Course Book 3, they will have completed and overview of Latin grammar. They will then move to the Oxford Latin Reader and continue with grammar exercises.

Students will have a wide acquaintance with Latin grammar and will be able to read original Latin texts with only a little assistance

Latin 9 or equivalent of about 160 hours of previous study.

IF YOU HAVE NOT COMPLETED THE PREVIOUS LEVEL AT CAE, YOU NEED TO CONTACT CAE FOR A SKILL ASSESSMENT PRIOR TO ENROLLING.

N.B. CAE withdrawal policy does not allow for refund or transfer once the course has started in the event that the level of the class is not suitable.

Suitable for students who have completed year 11 school Latin.
