This course covers general topics such as:

  • introduce yourself and others by using basic expression for meeting
  • engage in simple conversations to exchange information about nationalities, professions
  • ask and give personal information
  • use basic expressions to communicate in class
  • demonstrate basic knowledge of some cultural and social customs
  • know and use the French alphabet, count numbers up to 100
  • understand how to identify feminine and masculine nouns
  • use present tense of regular verbs in simple sentences
  • use of the formal and the informal you – Tu / Vous
  • conjugate verbs such as avoir, être and verbs from the first group -er
  • use of definite and indefinite articles for feminine and masculine nouns

By the end of this course, the student will be able to:

  • use basic expressions for meeting, greeting and saying farewell
  • engage in simple conversations to exchange information themselves
  • use basic expressions to communicate in class
  • demonstrate basic knowledge of some French cultural and social customs

This course is for beginners. No prior knowledge of French required
