Create your own contemporary jewellery. Gain practical experience and expertise in pearl and bead threading that will enable you to continue at home.

This course is for complete beginners or those who wish to finesse their beading skills and specifically learn pearl stringing techniques.

Practice kit is provided.

  • The morning session will focus on threading techniques. Students will make 2 necklaces / bracelets and 1 pair of earrings using their own beads.
  • In the afternoon session, students will pearl knotting using glass pearls supplied in the kit that accompanies the course.

For the afternoon activities, students are welcome to bring their own pearl knotting projects to work on, with guidance from the tutor.

If students choose to knot their own project, they need to bring the correct size silk thread to accompany their own pearls/beads.

Practice kit is provided, including:

  • glass pearls
  • 2 clasps
  • gimp
  • crimps
  • tiger tail
  • silk thread
  • bead mat to make two practice bracelets

Please bring:

  • notebook and pen to take notes
  • sufficient quantity of beads or pearls to make a necklace or bracelet
  • silk thread or tiger tail to match

1st part of the class will be spent learning beading and threading techniques.

2nd part of the class students can experiment with techniques learnt.

CAE note: Any notification of class cancellation will be advised within 48 hours, so you may prefer to wait and purchase your materials until the couple of days before the scheduled start day. We make every effort to ensure that courses proceed so that cancellation and disappointment is avoided.
