The morning session will focus on threading techniques, students will make 2 necklaces / bracelets and 1 pair of earrings using their own beads.

In the afternoon session students will learn pearl knotting using glass pearls supplied in the kit which accompanies the course. For the afternoon activities, students are welcome to bring in their own pearl knotting projects to work on, with guidance from the tutor. If choosing to knot their own project students must bring correct size silk thread to accompany their own pearls/beads.

Gain practical experience and expertise in pearl and bead threading that will enable you to continue at home.

A practice kit will be provided including: glass pearls, 2 clasps, gimp, crimps, tiger tail, silk thread and bead mat to make two practice bracelets.

Please bring: notebook and pen to take notes. Also bring a sufficient quantity of beads or pearls to make a necklace or bracelet.

You will also need silk thread or tiger tail to match. Tiger tail can be purchased from Koodaks at Century Building, level 4, 125 Swanston St

The first part of the class will be spent learning beading and threading techniques. In the second part of the class students can experiment with the techniques learnt. 

This course is for complete beginners or those who wish to finesse their beading skills and specifically learn pearl stringing techniques.
