Course Summary

This fast-paced introductory course has been designed to help students master the Arabic alphabet quickly while building up their vocabulary at the same time. It aims to provide learners with basic skills in conversational, everyday language. Studying Arabic Elementary 4 will provide an insight into a rich culture. Whether you wish to establish business connections with Arabic-speaking countries, work in health or community centres which offer services to Arabic speakers or plan to travel in countries where Arabic is spoken, Arabic Elementary 1 will set you on the path to acquiring a basic knowledge of Modern Standard Arabic as well as introduce you to the Egyptian and Levantine dialects.

This course will take the students through a range of general topics such as:

• Exchanging information and opinions

• Talkinging about travelling

• Engaging in general chit chat

• Talking about hobbies and interests

• Describing relationships 

• Discussing plans and schedules

• Cultural topics

Grammar is gradually introduced as the level increases. 

 

Arabic

By the end of this course students will be able to:

• Understand intermediate  grammar and build more complex sentences.

• Engage in meaningful conversations and exchange opinions.

• Read a variety of intermediate texts in Arabic (advertisements, articles, biographies).

• Produce intermediate texts in Arabic.

• Have more knowledge about cultural and social customs in the Arab world.

• Have more knowledge of selected Arab countries and cities. 

Suitable for students who have completed Arabic Elementary 3 or students familiar with reading and writing the Arabic script and who are able to engage in intermediate conversation and exchange of information. 

IF YOU HAVE NOT COMPLETED THE PREVIOUS LEVEL AT CAE, YOU NEED TO CONTACT CAE FOR A SKILL ASSESSMENT PRIOR TO ENROLLING.

N.B. CAE withdrawal policy does not allow for refund or transfer once the course has started in the event that the level of the class is not suitable.
