This class will cover frame-making, mat cutting, glass-cutting demonstration and fitting ready to hang. Learn techniques that can easily be replicated at home with basic equipment. Students will learn how to custom frame one or more works, using matting, frame, glass and backing board.

The tutor will demonstrate a variety of framing methods, including:

Conservation framing (Framing to help protect and preserve artworks)

Learn how to choose framing that will enhance your artwork

Mat board cutting (including single, multiple window and double mats)

Frame cutting and joining

And glass cutting.

Using a process that can be done at home creating your own designs and style. Participants are given the opportunity to learn how to professionally frame an art work, and the considerations usually adopted for a pleasing result.

A picture approximately A4 in size or less you would like to frame.

Notebook, pen and pencil to take notes.

 

Additional materials for this class will be discussed in the first session, costs are likely to be from $60, depending on the choices that you make. Please note that the larger the work the more expensive the materials will be.
