The following topics are covered in this course:

  • Birthday, birthday party and twins
  • Daily life and daily routine
  • My family, my house
  • Shopping

By the end of this course students should be able to understand and use simple Mandarin to:

  • Ask for each other’s birthday, make arrangement to buy a birthday gift and to go to a birthday party;
  • Talk about their daily routines;
  • Talking about their families and houses
  • Ask for goods and prices, and bargaining

Mandarin Elementary 3 or equivalent of about 50 hours of previous study.

It is assumed that students have completed 50 hours study of Mandarin or the equivalent , have developed the initial skills in the Pinyin system and Mandarin for everyday situations and are able to recognize a minimum of 100 characters and to write some of the characters.

IF YOU HAVE NOT COMPLETED THE PREVIOUS LEVEL AT CAE, YOU NEED TO CONTACT CAE FOR A SKILL ASSESSMENT PRIOR TO ENROLLING.

N.B. CAE withdrawal policy does not allow for refund or transfer once the course has started in the event that the level of the class is not suitable.
