The content is presented in an intensive and friendly way. Opportunities are provided for students to communicate and gain confidence in speaking Spanish. A cultural knowledge is also incorporated as it is important for students to be aware of some traditions, beliefs and behaviours they will experience while in Spanish-speaking countries. Inside this cultural approach, topics to be included are:

  • Knowing the alphabet
  • Pronunciation
  • Introductions – How to introduce yourself
  • How to explain where you are coming from
  • Be aware of necessary courtesy vocabulary
  • Numbers – To be able to recognise and say amounts
  • Shopping – specific transactions to do some shopping
  • Eating – going to restaurants
  • Directions – ask for directions
  • Health issues – going to the doctor

By the end of this session you should be able to:

  • Know the basic alphabet (names of the letters) just in case students need to spell their names, places they would like to go to and things they need. Therefore they are ready for it.
  • How to pronounce, so confidence to express themselves is built in. There is nothing worse than thinking you are saying something when in reality, it has the totally opposite meaning or doesn’t make sense at all.
  • Critical and essential language protocol requirements e.g. how to address people (formal and informal).
  • Express greetings, introductions; courtesy expressions.
  • Numbers are essential so students can negotiate prices.
  • Shopping – places to go to, clothes’ names, common items to be purchased like souvenirs.
  • Eating – how to order, ask for the bill.
  • Directions – ask for directions and how to get there.
  • Health issues – going to the doctor and explain symptoms.

Perfect for beginners.

Materials included in fee.

Ideal for those planning a trip to Spain and Spanish-speaking countries.
