Topics will include: transport, time, organising accommodation, identifying and describing people and expressing likes and dislikes. Grammar will be taught as the need arises. A few grammatical terms are introduced to help explain the language.
Arabic Elementary 2 is an 18-hour course designed for those who wish to learn to speak, read and understand basic Arabic used in everyday situations. It offers an insight into Arabic culture. The content is presented in an accessible and non-threatening way and opportunities are constantly provided for students to communicate in Arabic.

By the end of this course students should:
- understand basic grammar and build meaningful sentences
- engage in basic conversations and exchange opinions
- be able to read a variety of simple texts in Arabic (advertisements, descriptions, biographies)
- be able to produce simple texts in Arabic
- have acquired more knowledge about cultural and social customs in the Arab world
- have acquired more knowledge of selected Arab countries and cities
