Content

Modelled on an “in studio” style of teaching, students will experience a sense of artistic identity through a progressive journey. Using set projects as guides, students will work together with teacher identifying individual aims and establishing methods of production.
Through discussion of contemporary artistic practice new skills will be achieved and confidence gained in the technical application of acrylic and/or oil paints.

Outcomes

Students will explore the properties of paint through experimentation with colour, texture, composition and subject matter.
Students will acquire skills in painting with limited palettes, paint mediums, brush, paper and other found tools to achieve a desired effect.
Students will complete or be nearing completion at least one painting, and will have gained the skills to continue outside of class.

About Dawn Csutoros

Dawn Csutoros, a visual artist recently moved back to Melbourne after 11 years in Tasmania. Achievements include solo and group exhibitions in Tokyo, Sydney, Melbourne and Hobart. She has also been involved in public arts projects, artist's residencies and large scale cultural community arts projects on both national and international levels. Dawn began her career as a primary art teacher and has subsequently also taught at college level and in adult education for the last 6 years.
